 Hartless

Pompey have sacked Paul Hart, who becomes the first premiership manager to lose his job this season. This guy got handed a very poor hand of cards, 'arry spent all the money, then took the best players at cut-price and left Hart to face the shit.

 Injuries
Posted by St. Anger - 11-24-09 23:24 - 1 comments
QUOTE
Kieran Gibbs has fractured the first metatarsal in his left foot and will be out for around three months.

The England Under-21 international suffered the injury during the latter stages of Arsenal's 2-0 victory over Standard Liege in the Champions League on Tuesday night. He is scheduled to undergo surgery on Wednesday morning.

Before the confirmation of Gibbs' injury, Arsène Wenger had faced the media in his post-match press conference.

"Gibbs has a big hole in his leg," said the manager. "It was a very bad challenge by the No 22 and it was not his first try, unfortunately. It doesn't look good for Gibbs."

Wenger's worst fears were confirmed shortly afterwards following X-rays but the Frenchman was more positive about injuries suffered to William Gallas and Andrey Arshavin after the pair clashed in mid-air while challenging for a cross from Cesc Fabregas.

"Gallas has an ankle problem and a swollen eye," said Wenger. "I think he will recover for Sunday, we hope so. It wasn't concussion but he couldn't see anymore because his eye was swollen.

"Arshavin has some staples in his head. He will be available for Sunday."

This is really f***ed up... It was an easy win but there were some f***ed up challenges in this game. We needed Gibbs for Sunday. Unfortunately what was feared 10 days ago, which he miraculously recovered from, has now become a reality! Thanks a lot you c**t Beckham for making this metatarsal bullshit famous. Otherwise they would have just thought it was a sore foot and played on laugh.gif

Thankfully Arshavin is alright... he better start on Sunday, unlike the last time we played those cunts in the FA Cup.

If we are to win, we will need Gallas. He looked pretty messed up after the knock, but he should be good to go if the swelling goes down. Get well soon Gallas... and score on Sunday smile.gif

 Arsenal Vs Liege

We only need to avoid defeat, but we should want to win this comfortably and in the first half itself so that we can be fresh for Chelski.

The question is will the ref let us win?

We lost to Manure because of a bad ref. We lost to Sunderland because of a bad ref. We got f***ed over by f***ed up officiating against Shitty too.

I'll be happy if we play well... but I'm sick of the sport at the moment.

I feel for Ireland, I really do... but it saddens me that a case is being made only for them. How many times must we get f***ed over? Can we stop running around in circles and just get this technology thing sorted out once and for all. It's going to be very complicated to use technology (for fouls in the box, etc.) so we better start properly discussing it now. Or does it only matter at the bullshit international level where the quality of football is like watching the Armenian league?

 Come on Fiorentina!!

Fiorentina Fans To Show Solidarity With Ireland Over Thierry Henry’s Handball

The controversy surrounding Thierry Henry’s handball offence that helped France book their place in next year’s World Cup finals still shows no sign of abating, and Fiorentina supporters have decided to do their part.

Italian boss Giovanni Trapattoni’s Ireland were cruelly denied a spot at South Africa 2010 after the Barcelona striker twice handled the ball in the build-up to William Gallas' goal during last week’s play-off tie in Paris.

Fiorentina fans have decided to show solidarity with the Irish people and their former boss when French outfit Olympique Lyonnais pay a visit to the Stadio Franchi on Tuesday night. Sky Sport 24 claims that the Curva Fiesole will display a banner reading "We are all Irish".

Fiorentina supporters still have fond memories of ‘Trap’, who was at the helm of the Tuscans from 1998-2000.

The Gigliati will progress to the last 16 stage of the Champions League if they defeat OL in the Group F clash.

What legends. The Italians have gotten right behind the Irish since that c**t did what he did. They really love Trapattoni. Plus, if Fiorentina win tonight Liverpool will be f***ed out of the Champions League!

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has admitted that a falling out with a team-mate forced his summer transfer from Arsenal to City. "I had problems with certain players at Arsenal, especially one, whose name I will not say because I don't want to feed the controversy," Toure told Eurogoals One to One.

 Sunderland Vs Arsenal

"Denilson is back, Walcott and Wilshere are all available for selection," said the Arsenal manager.

"Walcott will be in the squad for Sunderland. Fabianski is not very far, so it [the injury situation] is a bit better."

Wenger also hinted that he may rest William Gallas and Bacary Sagna after France's match against Ireland went to extra-time on Wednesday.

Andrey Arshavin may also be left out of the starting XI after playing in a Play-Off match against Slovenia for Russia.

"The French players have played 120 minutes," explained Wenger. "Arshavin comes back from a very long trip and is very disappointed. Apart from that, it is not too bad."

Good to have Denilson back... I'm quite worried that Gallas played 120 minutes, but did Sagna as well?

Let's hope the boys can dig a result out of this one, as Sunderland are not easy to beat.

 Eduardo Signs New Deal
Posted by winston - 11-20-09 07:59 - 0 comments
QUOTE
Arsenal striker Eduardo has signed a new long-term contract at the club.

"Eduardo is a special player with huge talent," manager Arsene Wenger said. "We're so happy he has committed his future to Arsenal."

The 26-year-old Brazil-born Croatian joined the Gunners in July 2007 and has scored 18 goals in 48 appearances.

He has been a regular in the squad this season following his recovery from a badly broken leg, which sidelined him for almost a year.

"Eduardo is a human being full of courage, bravery and commitment," Wenger added.

"His full recovery from this injury is a testament to Eduardo's character. We all look forward to enjoying Eduardo's performances in an Arsenal shirt for a long time to come."

Eduardo has scored three times in 13 games this season, often featuring as a substitute.

But with Robin van Persie, Nicklas Bendtner and Theo Walcott all sidelined by injury, Eduardo could be set for a run in the side.

"I am very pleased to have signed a new long contract with the club," he said.

"I'm very happy and I hope to stay at Arsenal for as long as I can. This period is good for me now. I feel strong in my body and I feel ready to play 90 minutes every three days if it's needed."

Eduardo showed off his match sharpness by scoring two goals in Croatia's 5-0 thrashing of Liechtenstein on Saturday.

"I went to Croatia last week and everybody was telling me Arsenal play the best football in Europe at the moment," he said.

"I agree with that. We feel we are strong now this season and we're all going to give everything to win trophies."

Eduardo suffered a fractured left fibula and an open dislocation of his left ankle after a tackle by Birmingham's Martin Taylor in February 2008.

One year later, he marked his return with two goals against Cardiff in the FA Cup.

Do the Irish deserve a Replay
Posted by winston - 11-19-09 19:11 - 1 comments
Well am pretty much sure we all know the reason why... The Football Association of Ireland has lodged a complaint with Fifa asking for their World Cup play-off against France to be replayed.
